The 18th New Year's concert for business partners took place on Saturday, 8th of December 2007, in the Gallus hall of Cankarjev dom. The program of the concert is different each year and this year we listened to Slovenian folk songs performed in a pop-rock way. The musical views of Slovenian country sides, as was also the subtitle of the concert, took us on a journey of Slovenia in the company of top level domestic musicians. Under the guidance of Janez Dovč, who wrote the new arrangements and played the accordion in the group, which for this occasion named itself Triglav band, the musicians Vlado Kreslin, Ditka Haberl, Eva Hren (formerly a member of the trio Katrinas), promising opera singer Irena Preda, very well known singers Brina and Vesna Zornik (the singer in the group Katalena) and Oto Pestner performed for us. There were also the performances by the APZ Tone Tomšič, vocal group Katice, Boštjan Gombač, who played different pipes and flutes and Vasko Atanasov who played the clarinet.
As the host of the concert Jure Godler said: "The riches of differences, natural and cultural, which do not divide, but differentiate and by it complement, are the qualities which we can offer Europe. Triglav is the crown. The top. Viewing point, which offers us the best view of the future."
And as the Chairman of the Management Board, Andrej Kocič, MsC said in his address to the business partners, we are no longer just an insurance company, we are the Triglav Group, which is at home in eight countries of the Southeast Europe and which will next year amount to one billion euros of premium. This is a big enough reason for a nice gathering at the end of the years and for enjoying the top cultural event.
This year we witnessed a remarkable event. The enthusiasm in the hall was extraordinary that is why the performers presented us with two additional performances. And the best was the conclusion: all the guests received the wooden pipes. And with Boštjan Gombač conducting the whole hall participated in the song "Oj, Triglav moj dom, which was then sang by APZ and Oto Pestner.
